Dresden is the city which was practically fully destroyed during the 2WW but restoration inspired the city with new life. Cholera Fountain
Firstly was presented to people in 1846. It was ordered by Baron Eugen von Gutschmid as symbol of gratitude that disease Cholera didn't spread to the city.
First place where it was put — Postplatz , later was removed to Sophienstrasse.
Gotic style, architecture Gottfried Semper. 15.2 meters fountain adorned with Bible figures.

Zwinger

Most famous architectural monument in Dresden. This complex was built in 1709 but because of the 2 WW it was fully destroyed. Zwinger still keeps the city’s image, and remains us about baroque period like no other building. A courtly work of art was created between the city’s inner and outer fortifications at the behest of Augustus the Strong. The architectural project, favored over a simple orangery, was carried out by Matthaeus Daniel Poeppelmann und Balthasar Permose
What you see now back to 20th century. For today it has several pavilions with Old Masters Picture Gallery ( famous «Dresden“s gallery), museum of Porcelain, Royal Cabinet of Mathematical and Physical Instruments.

Dresden Opera House
Opera House or Semperoper was built in 1841 but was devastating by fire. New building appeared in 1887 it was project of architect Gottfried Semper. History has big connection with Richard Wagner, Richard Strauss.

Large mural “ Procession of Princes” or Furstenzug

This art work was painted between 1871 – 1876. Time when it was 800th celebration of Wettin Dynasty, Saxony’s ruling family.
23 000 porcelain tiles were used. The length is 102 meters and it is the biggest art work in the world. Mural displays portraits of 35 dukes, kings, between 1127 to 1904.

Bruhl Terrace

Other name is this place is “Balcony of Europe”. Previously it was part of fortification to defend the city. Later it was turned into beautiful garden and alley for promenade with incredible views of the river. Walk and enjoy.
Dresden Cathedral

Cathedral of Holy Trinity is the most important catholic cathedral of Dresden. Located in Elba river and in the city center. You will never miss it. It was project of Gaetano Chiaveri from 1738 – 1751. But during 2 WW was badly damaged and restored 1962. Inside of the cathedral still keeping the oldest organ, last work of Gottfried Silbermann, the organ builder.
This cathedral is past place for House of Wetting and some polish monarchs. In crypts the heart of King Augustus the strong is buried along with last King of Saxony.
